Lt. Col. Anthony Archer has been a member of Whiskey University since the beginning of 2022. He has earned the highest title of a “Chartered Master Whiskey Taster” and has earned his Master of Arts Degree from Whiskey University with a Double Major in The Bourbon Capital Region and Bluegrass Region. However, Anthony has not stopped there, not only does he teach at Whiskey University, but he is still expanding his education of whiskey through classes and seminars.

Anthony is a retired US Army Combat Engineer and is currently the Chieh Operating Officer of a small information Technology company. Anthony was born in September 1967 in Akron Ohio.  He met his wife Beverly while she was working in Austin Texas and he was deployed to the First Gulf War in 1990-1991.  Lt. Col. Archer and Beverly have two adult children, one grandchild, and another on the way.

Anthony earned his Bourbon Diploma in June 2022 and continued his pursuit of whiskey knowledge, finally attaining his Master of Arts in October 2023. Anthony is also a Certified Bourbon Steward with the Stave & Thief Society.

While on his annual trip to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in 2022, Anthony discovered Whiskey University. With Anthony’s love of history and being a curious fellow, he wanted to understand how the nuances of grain, barrel, water, and aging all affect the art that goes into creating the water of life. Although his introduction to whiskey was with single malt Scotches, he has learned not to limit himself in the wonderous flavors of all whiskeys and now enjoys a multitude of whiskeys, especially bourbons and Tennessee whiskeys.
