Distillery History Index

Many of the Distilleries listed below will be found on Bourbon and Whiskey Trails throughout Kentucky, Tennessee or rest of the United States and Canada. This page is dedicated to 18 Major Whiskey Distilleries and Craft Distilleries throughout the country and the men and women that started them and continue to keep them running even today.

In order to have made this list, the Distillery Must be considered a Major Distillery (must produce at least 1,800,000 Proof Gallons per year) in order to have their own separate page. In order to be listed on one of the Regional Group Pages, the Distiller must be considered either a Medium Independent Distillery (that produce 500,000 to 1,800,000 Proof Gallons per year) or “select” Commercial Craft Distillers (that produce between 100,000 to 500,000 Proof Gallons per year). Micro Craft Distilleries (that produce 10,000 to 100,000 Proof Gallons per year and Nano Craft Distilleries (that produce less than 10,000 Proof Gallons per year) are not listed.
